There’s fire and passion in his heart

But frigid ice flows in his veins

A cold stare; an inscrutable face masks

The deep emotion underneath remains

Certainly the pain forever will stay

To be his psyche’s shackles and chains

But the world shall never ever see

The hurt; the anguish that in his soul reigns!

Men are supposed to be stoic in the face of crisis.
Few are successful when left to their own devices!

Beautiful poem! It may come across as sad in a way, but very authentic and raw. I'd say even transparent. Nice job!

There's nothing that love can not conquer. There's an abundance of comfort in love. And many ways to get comforted by it. Opening up and sharing is a good start. Break the stoicism, share the pain to establish love.
A painful poem yet expressed very sensitively. Like.

One of my friends noted that this is a very sad poem. I said I didn't mean it to be - it was a simple observation of how men are. But thanks for liking Brod.

I would have to call Him who is "my fortress my rock and my shield".
