Questioning Reality

All these unwritten words
Cease to have meaning inside.
What is a person truly worth?
Why does it matter because
No matter how hard we try,
It’s impossible to be the best.
There will always be someone
Faster, stronger, prettier,
more Talented.
Individualism is a lie.
No one person is unique.
Someone else will have
The same talents, some better
Than others.

What does this make us?
Worthless.
Those unable to succeed are
Worthless.
Do choppy lines from the heart
Matter when you realize you’re
Worthless?
But if a life is priceless,
Everyone is priceless,
Doesn’t that mean we are all worthless?

Individualism is a folly,
Created by society to value
Some above others.
What if those who see the
Truth of life and reality,
Are those who face inner demons?
What keeps a drug addict
Below an idealist doctor?
Time and time again,
Life pushes you down,
Yet we refuse to submit.
Why?
Why fight the power in a battle
We will ultimately lose?
Because we all have an image
In our heads.
Maybe we will become
More talented,
Smarter,
Prettier,
Faster,
Better,
More unique.
But in the end, what are we?
Not even a speck in the
Story of Life and Death.

Are we all truly priceless individuals,
Or hopeless, worthless fools?
