Old Friends

To an old friend whom is gone, but not forever

I know not who you are in this very moment,
Not who you were not who you will be,
But what I know steals my well-his heart,
I’m in love with a sweet memory.

The days long and cold in the forest,
The nights longer and filled with pain.
The dreamlike state of my nostalgia,
The bittersweet rivalry to keep reality sane.

A true sweet love for a memory,
That memory of a creature such as you.
Our time together has never been enough,
Though at present, it’s beyond our control to do.

I miss what I hold in memory,
Where we were different, but the same.
You are going above and beyond,
Never returning from which you came.

I’m afraid of changes,
Too in love with the past.
Forever that memory must leave me
For exchange of reality at last.

I’ll miss the “you” I know,
the one I’ve held and heard and seen.
To pray you’ll for not one moment forget me
Is a thought, much indeed, very lean.

We are approaching I’m chartered Waters,
I’m too in love with the memory.
I know only what you have Been,
not at all what you want to be.

I know deep down we will change,
we will grow, but hopefully, not apart for you, my darling, my sweet, sweet drug,
you are an essential piece of my heart.

I know when you return
I will know not who you become. Afraid of changes and in love with the past,
Yet I know, with time, I will face my sum.

We do not know each other in the present,
only the others’ past.
I’m in love with my past picture of you,
yet this frame of mind shall not Ever last.

I should never hope to know you now,
Nor what you are dreaming to be.  but know in your heart I will never forget you.
I pray,
You’ll remember me.
