Rap And Poetry
I could see it in their eyes they didn’t know the difference,
because it wasn’t put in rhythm, they couldn’t tell the difference,
They couldn’t tell which was in verses and which was in stanzas,
Hip hop or Literature? They didn’t know the answer
Was it Pac or Shakespeare? as they all wondered
It’s an exchange program, but we don’t see it that way,
Poetry is for the serious, they say,
Rap is for the misled, those lost in the field of hay,
They’re not miscible, who says?
I listen to Rap poets everyday
Inspirations from the ink of the pen
Headphones or Books, the words are still the works of the pen,
Rhythm and Rhyme, Pages and Pages, behind it all, the pen,
Here’s my question, if you can answer this,
