Before the Day falls into Night

The crispy cover of gravel crumbled under my feet with clamor,
When I tried to clamber the hills with a zest to humble the heights!

The silky carpet of sands shrunk and sunk under my sole and got creased,
When I tried to cross the deserts with a thirst to conquer the sands!

The soggy sheet of tiny crystals slipped away through my toes and left corrugated,
When I tried to walk along the coast in the quest to explore the oceans!

With a passion to reach for the sky and desire to find that elusive destination,
I slipped; I tripped, I sunk, and I stumbled, in this eternal odyssey of life,

Although passion is taking new shades and desire switching new gears,
But, the firmament still looks out of reach and the horizon still out of sight,
Maybe, I will get there before the light fades into twilight,
And the day falls into night!
