Being A Foster Child

This poem just talks about being a foster child and how it is sometimes.

Being A Foster Child
Being a foster child is never an easy task.
The reason that I say this is because we want to ask…
Why are we here with you, not in our own home?
We feel like we have lost hope and we feel alone.
I say we because its not just Kendra Danielle, which is me.
There are other kids in this world that doesn’t want to be
… in foster care because they don’t know what to do.
And the foster caregiver does not even know you.
It’s like your in a house, a house is not your home
… without your family, friends, and the people you know.
A house is a place where you feel happy and safe.
Safe to the point that you will go to no other place.
Being a foster child means going to another school.
And having a foster mother with an authoritarian rule.
I mean there are circumstances when you have a good one…
.. that really cares, and loves you, and makes doors open.
A lot of people don’t know, but I, Kendra Danielle am a foster child.
I am because the things that happened to me were very wild.
I have mixed feelings about these certain events
… but then I think and say maybe I should’ve never went…
… and put myself into things like sexual abuse
… and I shouldn’t have grasped on to drug and alcohol use.
But because I did go and follow towards the negative stuff…
I am in foster care, and I’ll be honest, this change is rough…
But like I said if I wasn’t that stupid and unintelligent whore…
I wouldn’t be hurt, and my heart would not be sore…
But no Kendra Danielle wanted to go out and be like the rest… wild!!
And that’s why as of August 10, 2011 I am and will be a foster child!!!
