Just know that possessions are temporal!
Possessions are Temporal
As teens, we feel as if life throws many things our way.
And I can relate to this, I can truly say.
We feel like the older people are trying to mess up our life.
So we get an angry contention, we get strife.
And when we are upset or mad, we feed our flesh.
Not knowing, or knowing that to God this is not the best.
We smoke, but it only gets up hype for a day.
But we forget that the problems we are facing will come back our way.
We drink to get a little tipsy or to keep from being mad.
And we forget that when we are drinking we are making the problems more bad.
We have sex because we feel lonely and down.
We forget that the word of God gives you comfort, and will always be around.
We cut our skin when we don’t know what to do.
We forget that the man upstairs will always be there to help you.
We get angry and mad for no apparent reason.
And we forget that God is right there in and out of season.
We forget that cutting, sex, and drinking can always go.
But the word of God will forever stand, ya know.
We forget that God will always be there to set you free.
But this is only when you’re ready to give up negativity.
We feel as if God can only go through older folks, but that’s not true.
Because the same man that set me free can set you free to.
The point of my poem is honestly and truly to say,
That with God, throughout anything, God will make a way.
