The shadows that watch

Faceless shadows cover the walls
Watching gleering waiting
Watching as we step closer to darkness
Judging every movement we make
Waiting for the that day
When we slip
We fall
We drop
Dragging us closer to them
Like sirens calling are names
The evil
The anger
The pain
That we see everyday
It seeks to steal our light
It is watching, glancing, waiting
Always
And ever so patent
And ever so calm
Just waits for that day
When one more is pulled away
It grabs
Pulls
Attacks
And holds on tight
Draining away any joy
It wants to keep you captive
With every heart break
One step closer to hate
With every hard day
Only one step away
And when it gets you
It willl hold on tight
Only hope can save you
To keep that light
To stop you becoming another faceless shadow
An unknowing agent of pain
It will alway be lurking
Watching, peering and waiting
For some one to slip
For some to drop
For some one to fall
Just waiting in the pain we see every day
Small acts of kindness keep us safe
Love notes
Happy smiles
Laughter
And joy
They keep the darkness back
They keep you safe
Just never forgot
There are no regrets
No mistakes
No hate
Because the faceless shadows
They wait
