Everything Happens For A Reason
Walking up his driveway
Heart pounding in my chest
Mouth dry
It’s been months since I’ve seen him
I told him I needed some time
Respectful, he kept his distance
But I dreamt he was in danger
A train, so many faces, death
I had to check he was okay
There are messages in dreams
He was topless, lifting weights
Our eyes made contact
Electricity pumping between our gaze
It had been too long
Surprised to see me
But not really
Spontaneous to the core
He wouldn’t put anything past me
He couldn’t keep his eyes off me
Nor could mine off him
Glimpses of a future life together
In the backyard
Our daughter playing in the grass
Is it meant to be?
He told me his Nan had died
And his sister separated from her husband
That same week
He’s suffering at the moment
I think my dream means he needs me
As a friend
Hopefully something more
Everything happens for a reason
I was meant to see him that day
It felt right
But what will happen next?
Fate is yet to reveal itself
