Debilitating Depression

Heavy bones, the mattress consumes me
Sinking deeper into this debilitating depression

Get up mummy, I want to play
Go back to bed sweetie, mummy is tired; mummy is sick; mummy is empty
Save me from this debilitating depression

Pillow soft, hooded eyes
Go away world, I don’t want to know you
Put it off for another day, a day when I’m stronger and not debilitated by depression

Honey, I’m home. Where are you? Still in bed? What’s wrong?
Nothing but this debilitating depression

Heavy heart, sunken soul
So much to live for, everything to die for
Why’s it so hard?
Stop laughing at me debilitating depression

Sweep it under the bed; let it go
Open your eyes now and look at your little girl
She’s learnt a new word, she has another tooth, she’s grown a few more inches and you’re missing it
And for nothing more than debilitating depression

It will all be gone soon. You need to get up
