A Stubborn Heart

Despite the stubborn attempt to fight
memories come flooding with aggression and might.

Nightmares and day dreams consume the clock
sprawled out by the door, praying for their knock.
The hopeless romantics proclaim their thoughts
until all tears and memories are abandon and lost.

Let the inner demon free; all grudges forgiven
as I drive down the path that I once had driven.

With lonesome, somber eyes, I grab my suitcase full of space
attempt one foot before the other; seeing only your face.

(2013)

This poem provides the vision of true and utter heartache.
