Naked

Embedded in what’s left of what once was the norm
Objecting all tasks; rejecting new form
Devotion takes hold, requiring new force
Resorting to the excess…dismissing all remorse
Continue to prevail and denote the past
Remove what’s left of your lucrative cast
Concepts of restraint; a definite craze

Flee at this moment…or embody the maze
Urgency wails; demanding attention
When suddenly you’re faced with what you failed to mention
A righteous refrain arrives in the lyric,
And suddenly the dull dance appears Pyrrhic
Released and assured of this new transformation
Concluding the concomitant of your miscalculation.

(2009)

This poem is called "Naked" because its how someone feels once they realize they've made a mistake and they're trying to cope with the result.
