Before you...
Before you, I never quite knew... how to love or how it grew.
Through trial an error, grins and tears... you’ve taught me true love over the last couple years.
I doubted my capabilities in terms of trust
but you stole my heart,
loved me deep and showed me more than lust.
I’ve always craved a love that begun friend to friend
that would slowly evolve to a passion beyond comprehend.
You’re there when I need a second pair of ears
words of advice, a sense of reality, and to wipe my constant tears.
Accepting my flaws, enhancing my strengths
you’re a true man I’ll love, and will go to great lengths
As we embark on chapter two, please always know
I’m dedicated to you, will be by your side,
and help our love grow.
I wrote this poem when I was very much in love. It took me quite some time to open up, but when I fell, I fell hard.
