I have gone through a lot at only 19 (in 2015). I have had 8 surgeries because I was born with a birth defect and I have suffered from being bullied by many people from school and other places. I hope my experiences can help you. I try to always do something neat with my poems. Oh, and I also bake...my grandpa taught me how. (:
Hello! My name is Tyler and i have recently picked up Poetry as a hobby. It is because the individual who i call the "Love Of My Life" is passionate about Poetry. The "My Love Laid Bare" poem was the very first poem that i wrote for her. It was my way of putting words i could never find verbally into a means of showing her how much she meant to me. After that, i felt that this was something i'd love to do on the side while working my normal life. I'm by no means a professional poet, but i hope my poems can speak to others in a way it spoke to me.
Grew up on the otherside of perfect. Raised from addiction and poverty. From combat to churches and from prayers to pipes I always maintained my sense of morals. Patriot within his own mind who spent his senior year of high school fighting for a false sense of freedom. It's ironic to me how unless I agree to be controlled and follow rules made from another man's morals, then I'm doomed to the same fate but called by two seperate names, depending what side of the opposition you stand on. It doesn't matter to me what they call me, I've probably been called worse by better. Either way, I live by only one law and that law is freedom. If I am not hurting another human being in anyway, then I am in no way breaking any law of life. Ill fight for everyone's right to freedom if it doesn't oppose others. They used to call me a soldier for that. Times have changed but I have not. My guilt from war hasn't gotten any lighter, but my title still changed to an outlaw or a freedom fighter. Being a Christian most her poetry holds a Christian emphases. She is a featured poet with an impressive six-page spread in the Realistic International Poetry organization's magazine, that showcases her early efforts as a poet. You can purchase that edition, The Valiant #4, on their website. Being a rhyming poetry enthusiast, she has a Blog Why Redemptive Rhymes in her effort to promote poetry; particular, rhyming poetry. Currently she is working on a memoir book-that gives her background as to how and why she became a poet with an underlying message-to come out no later than fall of 2024; perhaps sooner. I'm complicated. I have vast emotions, and I live within a sea of myself. I explode I implode. But beneath, and within all of the chaos that surrounds who I am, I remain a good person. I hope you enjoy my poetry, it is a reflection of who I am. Every part of me. Every part of my life.
You guys already know the name but once again I'm Emily aka Emz. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio but I've been to many states - lived in Cali for 5 yrs and now I'm in Tennessee. I've always had a "thing" for writing I guess you could say. Whether it's writing music or just poetry I love every minute of it. It really helps me get all my thoughts and feelings out - lets me hear my own heart. Everything I write has genuine meaning to it. Just an old soul in a young mind. Hope you all like my posts !
