I throw my life upon the rocks
And all that goes there with it
Cringed under the heavy pounding
The relentless onslaught of heavy tides
My once proud spirit dampened
By high expectations of life
Remembering its glory and finer days
My hopes slid back out to sea
My sad story at the mercy of the current
Nobody’s there to hear my painful sobbing
I’m alone as life revels with itself
As light seeking light and darkness
Seeking comfort, that far away place
I can’t let life beat upon me
With its unmerciful lashings, so it’s
Time to pick myself up and
Move on to new hopes and dreams
