Far Above it All

Far Above it All

The higher I roamed above the earth
The more it became a romantic dream
Its jagged mountain peaks
Softened under my poetic eyes

I could see life so far away
As it yielded to the ways of nature
Her anger and her tranquility
Made the patterns of earth move with her
It seemed like nature was the potter
And life was made of clay
Life became a slave to her
As she became the master

What beauty there is in anger though
But not when you can feel it
Life broke free up here
And left me with no pain at all
For I saw it move with nature
As if life had no hold on me

High above the mountain peaks
I found a soothing remedy
To look at suffering from afar
Pretending it was never there
