Nature dressed in her new nightly garb
Flaunting about her proud nocturnal art

Of days gone dark and imaginary wanderings
Of hidden phantoms and what tomorrow brings

Of flowers resting from reaching for the sun
Of sunsets hiding from days tightly spun

Of nature never to show her sunlit face again
Of time sitting still never to transcend

Of quiet armies plotting their next assault
Of danger looming behind the darkened wall

Of ghosts down under rising with the night
Of angels and demons plotting to unite

Of anxious hope from this night on
That we will see the next new dawn
