Poet
I am a poet, and if I’m not as good as I should then I’ll aspire to be better
But it’s hard for me to write joyous and uplifting things
So you can call a dark romantic or anti transcendentalist since I speak the words of this god forsaken world
Because in a world of war and constant conflict
When can we actually enjoy the full pleasures of life
Because I’ve had my number of good but at the end I’d have to double check my doors
Or even stay awake in fear of being invaded or attacked
So I wonder if you can give me a reason
Give me a reason why a lonely, insecure, darkskin male should be in a joyous mood in this stereotypical society
A society where most see me as a thug or crook
Even though I’ve never committed a crime in my entire life
With a record so clean that if you were to judge me on my appearance, you’d have to take a second look
So you can say all that you want about me, I don’t really care
My skin color doesn’t describe who I am as a person, nor does my facial expression
So why am I such a emotional and depressing writer, I’ll let you figure out the rest
