Goodbye TATA (Nelson Mandela Tribute)
(I wrote this poem the day Papa Madiba passed away, coming from Southern Africa, Nelson Mandela had a huge influence on me, and I only hope to have the same courage and determination when I grow up to be a leader)
Goodbye Tata,
Good bye Madiba,
Tata Mandela,
Father of the nation,
The great Liberator,
An universal hero,
from the words of the wise,
his day is done and his presence is gone
but his courage and wisdom shall live with us forever
Goodbye Tata,
for you now belong to the pages of history,
And thank you for the example you shared,
that kindness and compassion beats cruelty and evilness
And that forgiveness and unity beats revenge and conflict.
Goodbye Tata,
Even though our eyes are still watery,
but our hearts are greatly filled with joy,
For we know you lived a whole life,
And touched many from a distance..
So humble you made us know and believe it wasn’t only you,
but a collection of great man who made it all possible
Walter Sisulu, Oliver Tambo, and others who never made the front page of the news, Goodbye Tata,
so hard to say Goodbye,
But we knew the day was coming, yet we were never ready for it,
We wont accept it that you are gone, but we will learn to live with it,
Till we meet again Papa Madiba!!!!!!
but for now we will say GOODBYE TATA.
