Was It Made For Me

Was love really made, meant for everyone
Or is it a sacrifice, is it to give up something for someone
Is it to lose all hope, to live with a curse
But living without love; someone could never live a life worse
If the world was to spin, backtrack and reverse
Would you be a part of the system, or just another passenger in the hearse?
When you love so much, so deeply your heart could burst
Would you put your life above all, or would that love come first
You see, true love is eternity
You have to put all behind, no matter how hard that may be
Is love worth keeping, is it a choice or a force
Is it is an intoxication, a drug that keeps you begging for more
Does loving multiple people, make you confused or a whore
Love is like an ocean, and you are the shore
There’s so many people that you could love
There’s oh so many, but you can only truly love one
You’re the shore, and the ocean is society
The person you fall for comes from many varieties
But you have to remember, the shore is connected
To the ginormous ocean, but only to one beach that’s presented
You could love the vast waters, as much as you love the sand
But tell me now, where would mankind be without any land
So before you pick one or the other, listen to my command
Loving one is like loving a million, if it turns out to be true love in the end
Love cannot be described, it can only be denied
It can be thrown away, but only recovered a certain amount of times
Love is nothing, and yet it is all
I will never be able to word it, or phrase it
For every word and phrase is too small
To compare to the waves of love
It is the ocean that flows around, threw, and among,
Us all
