Far from Reality

Far from Reality

You are wearing an expensive Gucci dress,
Who are you really trying to impress?

You hang around with people who are fake and superficial,
Living in their little cocoons, unaware of what is real.

Society is becoming hypocritical, prejudice and fake,
Surrounded by fake people who give nothing but only take.

Sucking time and energy like thirsty blood sucking mosquitoes,
Acting posh, holding a glass of Moët, wearing Versace stilettoes.

They love you only for your money and fame,
Playing their dirty tricks, pedantic and lame.

Wake up, open your eyes and see the reality,
Stop living this materialistic life, it is total insanity.

There are plenty of good people out there,
Who care, give, reciprocate and share.

You are hypnotised and need to get back to the real world,
Far from this jungle, where souls are not bought and hearts are not sold.

(2014)

This poem highlights superficial and materialistic people we hang around with. Our so called "friends" are not really our real friends. All they want is our money!
