In memory of Clara - my grandmother, mentor and friend; she who survived the Dust Bowl and embraced all life brought before her; she who taught me the meaning of unconditional love.

Her love was the gravity of the tides
That sent her will upon the shore.
She walked the world in daring strides,
And where love was none– loved more.

She will live within as radiant light.
She will live a thousand times anew
Each day that comes to end the night,
For her love was pure and true.

It lives within me, it lives within you -
Her legacy shines anon.
It will shine forever thereunto
The light of an infinite dawn.

Beautiful. What else could it be, coming from you?
