Festival de Cannes

Dreamcatcher

1st night in Cannes it started
Affair of heart so grand
All loves before departed
Made way for my grandstand

The famous Festival it was
Red carpet was the road
Film stars stood next to me
Was time to show my mode

My host and guide was Sophie
She’s also mon ami
Cannes socialite, opened doors
Made me celebrity

Pattinson & Gosling
Asked Don Johnson who I was
He told ‘em “this is Stokie!
Tonight he’s one of us!”

We drank & jived and did our thing
Young guns & old the same
Charlie was their best mate
Leffe beer was my ballgame

To Suquet we meandered
Street jazz guys they played
In Heaven I had landed
Weirdos like me displayed

Day 3 we wandered St Tropez
Ooh-la-la were girls
My feathers blew them over
For me they did some twirls

Bulgari, Luis, Pucci
Cavalli, D & G
Armani, Fendi, Gucci
And there was TC.

In fine plumage I strutted
Oh so avant-garde
A lovebird came and touched my soul
Marrion Cotillard

It was my dreamcatcher
That caught her demure smile
Cheek-to-cheek she whispered
‘I like your la plume style’

My hands she took in both of hers
Her lips she touched them to
Her eyes looked into my eyes
Mine stuck to hers like glue

My head was spinning lightly
We danced to Aznavour
Stars were shining brightly
I started to want more

She said if she wasn’t married
I could be her beau
But she was so I could not
Soon she’d have to go

So came the finale
Au revoir we say
But Sophie, Marion, South of France
My thoughts of you will stay.
