yes, we’re all here
in this big waiting room
soon as we stepped out
of our mother’s womb!
her love nurtured us;
and still sustains us
everything else
in this world just superfluous

waiting for a train,
we endure life’s dichotomy
we exist, we survive;
maybe not as we wanna be!
we weather joy and sorrow;
health and sickness
good, evil; light, darkness;
sanity and madness

always a war within us;
and it tears us apart
we pray the waiting will end,
have a fresh start!
we’d board the next train
to our final destination
where dichotomy shall end
in eternal communion!

like we were in our mother’s womb,
innocent and pure
unblemished by the filth and grime
that we endure
as we wait for the train
in this big waiting room;
hoping our next lives shall be
as sweet as heaven’s perfume!

I was at a train station today and most of the trains were cancelled. I took a spontaneous decision to jump on the first one leaving, regardless of destination. It was exhilarating and worked out well. It made me think I should do that more often. Now I just read your poem, which seems to fit perfectly with that experience. I love a good coincidence. :-)

I wouldn't mind waiting long if there was always more joy than sorrow. This poem makes me reflect. Nice one Vic.

Thank you Delilah. I believe I read that somewhere, I used to read Oscar Wilde a long, long time ago.

Great Writing.. It reminded me of a quote... "The soul is born old but grows young. That is the comedy of life. And the body is born young and grows old. That is life's tragedy."-Oscar Wilde xxxx

I had a dream about a train, it was very grand the grandest train Ive ever seen. Nothing like it on this earth. I like your poem and i think I'm being inspired to write one called The Train,
