Rabbit Hole

I fell into my closet last Friday
Down I danced like the spirits of a stray
I was too far away to step back’
Landing on a stack of spaded jacks

There I saw Lady Liberty having tea
She had a few guests, just you and Gandhi
Talking about the latest wars
And the exhaust from their cars

Then a butterfly told me that
To make life fun I need to be a rat
They go here and there leaving
Food for all the nice people, deceiving
Those clouds who burrow and steal
And teach the men to forget to feel

In my wonderland I heard a song
A static tune to rival the weighted gong
No standing still to that dance
So will you help the elephant prance?

I’m too tired to sit still anymore
Munchin’ on a rotten apple core
Far north of the heart and brain
Sits a kingdom downright insane

I need a date to their prom
I already asked the rabbit’s mom
But she said no
So I’m heading to the rabbithole... Wanna Go?
