The Happiest Town
I fell upwards out of that room
Burst right out of my gloom
No need to cry in this town
I forgot how to even frown
There’s a parade prancin’ down main street
They’ve got music and love under their feet
They’re kickin’ up dust like a sweeper
No message could’ve been any deeper
The piano man is dancing on his keys
Telling his love “Marry me, baby please!”
She can’t stop saying yes
Oh to see it, I feel blessed
There 's a party over on Green Drive
The folks over there are buzzing like a hive
Singing “Oh Lord We Feel Like Heaven On A Sunny Day!”
The choir men came out to run and play
Finally I got to meet the two mayors
They were lovers and music players
Hand in hand they met me with smiles and songs
Told me in this town there are no hates or wrongs
And anyone is aloud to stay and fly
In this brilliant town that shines like a star in the sky
