Lament of the Immortal

I breathe in.
The blackness floods into me, cold, empty.
The last shreds of light flicker on and on, as if gasping for air, as they too are consumed by the blackness.
There is nothing now.
No joy.
No love.
No hope.
My home was eaten by the ravenous darkness long ago.
And so was the home of all those I loved, them soon following.
Time is dead, along with all else.
All but I are gone.
They have been for a while.
And it will be for all eternity and evermore.
Numb and motionless, I float through infinity itself.
How I wish the nothingness had taken me with all that I care for.
How I wish that I too would be taken by the emptiness.
I breathe out.

I wrote this one a while ago, but I think it's still quite good. Enjoy!
