The Day Where I Changed Everything

I remember the day where I changed everything
The day I ripped apart what we valued in our past
The day I separated us from a bonded unit
The day I destroyed the pact we always thought would last

I remember the day where I sent you away from me
The day where I decided to be alone
The day where I ignored our meaningful history
The day when I became dramatically head strong

I remember the day where I let the doubt get to me
The day where I let logical reason pass
The day where I forgot what you meant to me
The day that made my heart shatter into a thousand pieces of glass

I remember the day where I changed everything
And, I figure I always will
If I could go back and take back that moment
There’s nothing I wouldn’t be willing to give

(2014)

This poem is inspired by a great friendship that I let slip away.
