An attempt at a Haiku

As I lay quietly,
just the sound of the cricket
is all I can hear.

Then another sound,
a neighbor is up quite late
but stillness prevails.

The night floods in now,
as do some memories past
as I lay content.

The night is pleasing,
as the moon beams in its light
the world is at rest.

Ahhhhh sweet rest at last,
the end of another day,
wifely duties done.

Thank you so much, I value your opinion. I was inspired by your lovely wife,
so glad she has joined us here on Poeticous. Appreciate you both.

The moon has those magical beams so calming they hypnotize you to sleep. And with the chirping music of the crickets you’re set for a beautiful night’s dream, a perfect gift for a day’s work.

May you have many more nights like this, moon and crickets.
