Pathway
Oh, such splendour in the grey-blue sky -
The pathway created between
A double-rainbow, which starts
And ends beyond the horizon,
Between the known and unknown world
And which has been seen by men
Throughout time, including today,
Had an astonishing effect on people,
And is reflected in the Stonehenge Avenue,
Leading from the stone circle
To the life-giving, and taking, river Avon:
Souls sustained in rain down from heaven
In the water that we drink,
In the rivers where our reflections live,
From which our souls return to the ether above.
Rain-water, bow-path, river-flow,
Life to eternity with the ancestors
Buried beneath the standing stones
Emblems and ever-lasting memorials,
Grave stones and blue healing stones,
Spirits of men and women powerful,
Communal, all embracing of
Sky, earth, water, fire and people,
Complete, one with their world,
Justified, enveloped in fear and love
By the double-rainbow path -
Oh, such splendour in the grey-blue sky.
