This shyness is a burden to me
That makes me feel a sham,
That makes me blush so freely
Me, a grown-up man.
Blushing certainly holds me back,
Never pushing to the fore,
Portraying the confidence I lack,
Yet I have energy galore:
I read, I write, I walk, I paint,
And drive a little, too.
When I’m awake I’ve no complaint
Though I sleep a lot, it’s true.
In company I feel restraint,
But not when I’m alone with you.
