The Monolithic Sky

As the Blue-Moon rises
In the monolithic sky
It casts reflected light
On the dead and the lame.
The shadows, thus created,
Gave credence to the names
Of the ones that took the credit
But would not take the blame.

Within this shadowed place
With smoldering embers abounding
The truth is seen, in-between,
The divided camps of fools.
And there among the rubble sits
Such sweet words of wisdom
About justice, equality,
Among a host of other rules.

Then the Blue Moon begins to set
For its cycle soon will end
And darkness falls on that place
Where hope still comes to call.
But not everyone sees the moon
For they live within “The Cave”
And all they know is what they’ve seen
When shadows are cast upon the wall.
