Tatum's Lullaby

(I am not going to change the title of the poem because is her lullaby and it was her's to begin with. It belongs only to her.... Even though things are kind of different now.)
When you’re crying on my shoulder
And I’m not sure what to say,
I’ll whisper softly in your ear
that everything will be okay.
When you say your heart is broken
and your soul feels so alone,
I’ll tell you that I love you,
And that in my heart you’ve made a home.
When I hear you breath so gently
And see tears fall from your eyes,
I’ll wipe them one by one away,
And tell you everybody cries.
And soon you’ll look up at me
And maybe start to smile,
And thank me for just being there
Through all the painful while.
And I’ll look into your eyes
And know just what to say,
That on me you can depend
And everything will be okay.
