Moving On

written for a friend of 11 years...sad to say we no longer talk

I said I wouldn’t miss you, and I admit it was a lie
I’m remembering all our good times, and trying not to cry
But I know I have to move on, you’re not the same as you once were
And I don’t miss you, I’m missing her
The way that you talked to me, not so long ago
Inspired me to write these words, just for you to know
You think you can say those things, and keep me as a friend
So sorry to say, my dear, our friendship has to end
You can try and destroy, the dearest part of me
But you can’t take away those things you cannot see
I won’t remember who you were, and don’t care who you are
I hope things aren’t good for you, yeah, you pushed me that far
Plus your attitude, thinking you’re so bad ass
But no matter what you do, you’ll never have my class
To hear your voice messages, it sickens me to know
That’s the kind of friendship, that you have to show
To go behind my back, you must think that you can
It’s time to draw the line, when your messing with my man
I laugh at your misery, and dance in your pain
I would swim in your tears, if I had something to gain
Your name means nothing now, you’re just a joke
I hope you drown in your sorrows, on every word you choke
Because of the way you are, no happiness again
Look into the mirror, and see your only friend
Karma is a bitch, all the great ones say
You’ll get yours, believe it’s on it’s way
And when you are sinking, please reach for my hand
So i can push you deeper, that’s how you treat a friend
I truly hope these words, touch your heart inside
And tares away, all your foolish pride
But most of all, prove that words can hurt for real
And surprise yourself, it’s something you can feel
I’ll never understand, why you turned your back on me
There’s only one thing left to do, is set our friendship free...
