I'll Walk Alone

To Marcy Howard

I don’t follow any false gods, the path I follow is my own,
And though others condemn my walk, still I walk alone,
I really don’t give a shit, if you like my smile,
I do things my own way, I’m not in the rank and file,
Though solitude might surround me, still I’ll walk alone,
And if you don’t agree with me, you can walk on your own.

Though this path now is lonely, maybe its because you look down your nose,
And while the darkness grows in us, from your throne you’ve been deposed,
Opinions belong where the sun don’t shine, its you that means something to me,
And if you open those dark brown eyes, maybe then you’ll see,
Though solitude might surround us, I’ll still walk alone,
And if you don’t agree with me, you can walk on your own.

We both see our destruction, we both see the love and pain,
Yet if our egos are all we have, why do you call me insane,
Differences mean were different, there’s no hidden meaning there,
And if you raise that solid wall, maybe then you’ll care,
Though solitude might surround us, still I’ll walk alone,
And if you don’t agree with me, you can walk on your own,
Hell may be where we now live, but its heaven we were shown,
And down this path, straight through hell, its both of us, who walk alone.
       Only you!
