Mahatma Gandhi

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, and then you win."

Perhaps if you we’re born in a different culture, place, time...
You might not see the logic in the rhyme, reason, realistic approach.

Possibly you would justify slavery, cannabalism, murder...
Or find yourself a musical sheep-herder like Dave Waitski.

Just maybe you would encourage ideas on success
As you starve to death on purpose in the Indian distress
Like Gandhi.

But no, the people have all excelled to a more superior knowledge
And freedom is a strictly guarded privilege.

Reagan was sure great! We declared war on drugs.
Prescriptions and government regulation– badge wielding thugs
Who will put you in an itty bitty room indefinitely.

Liberal, conservative, all I hear is “put your hands behind your back.”
And all I see is a camera in a small room and two meals in a sack
And for a threat to oneself, that should be plenty.

For an eagle, a hummingbird, a robin, a wren,

Don’t worry too much, by the end you will win.
