Sea Snake Oil

The veins of the earth
           Water snake oil injected
Purple roses bloom
           Deserts lush verdant forests
           Capricorns love unicorns

Get me a couple of bottles while you're at it too. Sounds like some good stuff.

Great. A lot said in just a few words. It sounds like snake oil is the proper fertilizer to use.

Poem inspired by the current news media talks about the “snake oil quackery”.
Little known trivia is that the sea or water snake oil contains more omega - 3 fatty oil than wild salmon has and acts better in moderating inflammation like in joint aches, etc. The sea snakes survive on fish and other seafood. This sea snake oil was introduced in USA in around the 1900s by the Chinese laborers working on the continental railway system. They made use of the oil topically to relieve body pains after long hours of hard labor. Exploited by the circus entrepreneurs that era, terrestrial rattlesnake oil instead was hawked as a cure all for pain, arthritis, muscle aches, etc. that did not work as land based snakes contain almost zero omega 3 oil. A quack. Rest is history.

Interesting isn’t it?

Far from this background I thought I’d put a little twist directing the poem to fantasyland thus making the snake oil a very good fertilizer literally. You hit it absolutely square on the head.
On the other hand, it most likely served the Chinese laborers good why we have the railway system up and running.
Will check the China Town after the Covid19 lockdown for a bottle or two.
