As the winds of fate sit beside me, screaming yet again... I wonder why?

Why now do I truly understand envy?

Why did I remain silent for so long?

Why does what I’ve wanted for as far back as I can remember...

Seem so close... And yet... So far from my grasp?

I’ve broken myself from the world I once knew...

No longer will I settle for anything less than what I desire...

No longer will I sit in hiding...

Sit in waiting...

Waiting for this delicious scent that I’ve known for what seems like ages...

Not now that I’ve finally tasted the blood...

So addictively sweet...

Hungering...

Maddening...

I relish in the hunt...

This feral game between the wolf and it’s prey...

Moving ever closer...

Ever so quietly...

Watching every step eagerly...

Waiting for the opportunity to strike...

I care not for how long it may take...

Nor how much effort it will require...

I know only one thing for certain...

The moment I sink my teeth into this beautiful, demonically sweet prize...

It will take the end of existence to stay my grip...

And yet as close as I seem to my prey...

I can’t help but shake the question floating between whispers in the back of my mind...

What if I’m the one being hunted?
