Perhaps it was the way she moved as we patrolled the forest...

Both stalking the other without ever a glance elsewhere...

Perhaps it was the overwhelming feeling as we fell into one another...

Getting lost for eternities at a time in the radiant pools of color, From which we both gazed...

Perhaps as the trenches formed in the flesh of my back,

Her claws following ever so closely,

As if conducting a beautiful symphony of pain and pleasure united...

When it happened I cannot be sure...

But at some point during this venture...

It occurred to me that there was no other way...

There was no other hunt...

No other prize...

No emotion stronger...

Than that which I have for this...

This evil angel which has vexed my heart from the very beginning...

And yet it is not trouble she brings to me...

But a sense of peace...

Of belonging...

Of love...

A sense that the colors of life are changing...

Becoming brighter...

More vivid with every day...

And the forest...

The forest holds our secret for eternity...
