A Clearing Up Ahead

“Ahoy mates; a clearing up ahead and two degrees to the port side. I see the Angel of Mercy smiling through the broken black clouds along the horizon, the remnants left behind from the fury of the Tempest. She is a thing of beauty in her white chiffon dress glistening amongst the azure skies. She is a beacon, shining her light upon a safe passageway for us to follow. She is a welcome sight indeed.
We took a beating as the Tempest had its way with us. I’m sure it was the work of the deep-sea devil. It rose from the bottom like a volcano and threw its heavy artillery at us. It stirred up the waters and made craggy mountains out of the gentle waves. It was like the inversion of the devil’s lot with its ugly mouth surfacing and snarling at us, but we came out of its grasp a little scathed but still intact.
Get ready to man your stations mates for the hoisting of the sails again. Check the jibs to see if they were torn apart in the wind and the gaff sail boom that was flailing up over the bulwark. Make sure we are in ship shape as we sail into our port. We are mighty we are. Nothing can stop us as we forge ahead.”
