Deriva Facil

Easy drifting with the wind as my master
who pushes me with her melodic hands,
who leads me to where she wants me to be
and I am submissive to her domineering air.
She is the conquistador of her loyal seas,
the grand master of the feeble waters,
the strengthener of their strength
and the mother of their fate.

She pushes me along the rumpled waters
and laughs as I try to test her strength.
I give myself to her and skim along her course,
her predetermined path that she chose for me.
My surfboard is my shield that
keeps me from falling to the waters’ depths.

I hang onto my kite and play with her wind
and she plays with me as she pushes me along.
I sail along her crests and into her troughs
and frolic in the wind that she supplies to me.

She is easy with me as I glide along her course.
I can hear her voice in the wind as I sail along.
I can hear her breathing with my breathing.
I can feel her power and weigh it with my power.
She shows me her strength but not at its ultimate.
I frolic in her gentle nature, the side she gives to me
as I glide along the waves with my kite
as my rudder and her as my master.

Easy drifting, deriva facil, derive facile,
I sail along her many waters of the earth
safely in her hands with her power subdued
just for me to glide along with my kite.

I never kite surfed before, but just imagine how they feel. I saw them surfing when I was on the west coast a couple of weeks ago.
