The Entrance

Golden arches with rose covered arbors
adorning the entrance to the guarded secrets
that are kept inside the ancient tomes
that align the shelves in the rooms
of the prophets and the sages
reveal the workings of a higher intelligence
of the mind and the divine.

Gilded carriages with dashing drivers
that fly with the wind in the busy skies,
wait to escort you to find the secrets
in the scrolls hidden in the stately rooms
to be opened by kings and you of noble worth,
you with curiosity and a keen mind,
the chosen one to be exalted and enlightened.

The trumpets shall sound
your arrival at the entrance.
The doorkeeper will open the carriage door
and lead you through the gate.
Then the butler will show you your room
that is suffused by a calming air to
soothe your anxieties.
There you will find the ancient scrolls
that will reveal the secrets.

Although they may be puzzling at first,
they can enchant the heart and soul
with the language of the muses and
go deeper and deeper
in philosophy and reasoning
as they reveal the key to understanding life
and the mother that keeps it longing for itself;
and as if through the digging you
found the mother lode.

This is the first poem to be published in my next book. I hope to draw the reader inside to keep on reading.
