In the Tunnel

The road of life, rocky, smooth,
arduous, perilous, breathless,
suffocating, out of my control,
taking me by forces unsuspected,
leading me into dark tunnels,
lost inside, surrounded by darkness,
searching for a way out, a light,
a candle, a spark,  a sign of life,
feeling the consoling wings of death
encircling me to take me home.

But as the road grows longer,
the tunnel ahead
slowly begins to brighten.
A beacon appears as a godsend
showing the way out.
A vaccine has been invented
to kill the Covid-19 Virus.
The angel of mercy has come down
wielding her glowing scepter.
She is as beautiful as the virgin snow.
She is coming to my town to save me
and all the rest of my friends.
I love her, my savior, my angel,
the light at the end of the tunnel.
