My Friend’s Passing
My friend, where have you gone?
To lofted fields or stately manor’s lawn
Where white doves flap their quiet wings
In the realm of the Godly as mother sings
Where bibles point their words and find the sky
Sailing through corridors with no wings to fly
Diving into velvet arms with soft landings
Thy precious self made for fragile handlings
Where paradise is sought, paradise is found
Rapture prevails from spirit’s skyward bound
Passing is a life moving onto the next
So sayeth the words from a sage’s text
Life is beautiful at home as it is away
Where living is lived in rainbow’s array
In glorious skies after summer weeps
Upon fertile fields and forsaken streets
My friend who lives where spirits soar
Thy passing is just a wave upon a shore
