In the Depths of Despair yet Reaching Heaven

At our lowest point
Of turmoil & despair
We reach for Heaven
When we dare
To let go...
All we thought was holy
Is now brought low,
As above,
So below...
By humbling ourselves,
We reach the summit,
Our kneeling is our stretch,
The low of Mariana Trench,
Is now the high
Of Mount Everest...
In the sky
The highest of highs
Elusive remains
By stooping & bending,
Divinity is attained,
Helping the homeless & help the elderly
To lesson their heaven burden
Is right...
True glamour
Is in the heart,
It is on the inside,
Not the outside,
As seen by the part
Of the world,
Where the heart
Is hungry not for helping, equality,
& protection,
But feeding their greed,
By possession, power & insurrection

Other works by shane dickie...
