Winter Blues

Confused snowflakes hitting the ground
Lonely white skeletons locked out of heaven
Freezing out in the cold
Deserted on polluted highways
Wrapped in insane degrees
Forced to cover the earth’s scars
To silence echoes and fill aching holes
To mask the hurt and make everything look beautiful
Even though beneath the icy frames
Lies crime scenes and graveyards
White puffs of fairy tale wishes
Touching tear streaked chicks
Falling on train wrecks and tornado alleys
Obligated to harmonize the pain
To turn battle cries into hymns
Deceiving travelers like crowns on schizophrenic kings
Because you see…
Heaven can sometimes be cold
