Opinions
This poem will self destruct.
What is it about an opinion that makes us think that we have dominion?
What is it that we are trying to possess?
Does anyone want to hear it besides myself?
Am I simply giving unsolicited advice?
Doesn’t it just create an offensive position that I then have to defend?
But you don’t have to defend your identity or your personal history.
You simply are enough.
After all, am I as knowledgeable as my opinion states?
So be sure to take a break from speaking to listen.
Perhaps pose a question to the audience or to yourself.
Because we are also here to learn.
I hope my poetry is more than just an opinion.
