The Reverend

Her beauty is fought over by Kings.
But her attention goes to the beggars and the transients.
Her eyes focus near but her heart covers the great expanse.
The wind blows through her hair and she hears the prayers
of the departed.
The moon shines on her and she sees the runway of hope.
Hope is a promise.  A promise to yourself and to the world.
A promise to never stop believing.
So she keeps the faith for herself and for mankind.
She keeps the pilot light lit so we can find our way.
She is our steward,  our shepherd.
When she needs guidance she walks alone at night into the woods.
It is there that she meets her spirit guide the wolf.
She hears his call. It guides her through the forest.
The trees help her stay grounded but they also help her to transcend.
Because while they hold the roots of the world.
They also hold the leaves that touch the heavens.
