To be or to become?
The world rewards greatness.
But goodness is it’s own reward.
We admire the great ones.
But remember to get great one first has to be good.
We must not forget what it took to be good
And what it takes to get great.
Getting good takes skill but being good is a choice.
Not all of us will become great.
But all of us are good.
And you may ask which one is the greater?
To be good or to get great?
Character or achievement?
Being or becoming?
This poem was inspired by yet another quote from my father.
