The Envied Sun

When my eyes upon the raw world look
First thing in the morning, watery as a brook,
Hoping to reflect the sun rising into my sight,
I think upon the darkside of the night,
The realm that I’ve just left to join the light,
Where in my dream I thought of you,
When we were young and our love true.
Taken from your world to live elsewhere
My heart broken, in repressed despair,
I often wonder how you look and fare
In the eyes of another, who I am sure
Will see in you the things I saw,
Such youthful innocence and beauty rare,
While the envied sun upon you too does stare.
